The North East has been hit with a yellow warning from the Met Office as unsettled conditions continue.
With many people waking up to unsettled conditions and windy weather, a new yellow warning has been issued.
A yellow warning for wind is currently in place for the North East from 6am tomorrow until 11pm on the night.
Very strong and gusty winds are likely and could lead to some travel disruption during Friday morning.
Delays to road, rail, air and ferry services are likely and some bus and train services could also be affected by the weather.
Although the warning doesn’t fall within the North East area, it does not mean we will escape the extreme weather.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “The Met Office National Severe Weather Warning Service (NSWWS) warns of the potential impacts caused by severe weather and the likelihood of those impacts occurring.
“This does not mean that areas outside the warning area will not see severe weather, just that the more extreme impacts are expected within the warning zone.”
What’s the weather like today?
Today is more of a mild day with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle at times, especially on western hills.
Meanwhile, it should become drier and brighter, with some brief sunny intervals in the east.
Despite this, it will be a mostly windy day with gales in some places and a maximum temperature of 16c predicted.
Moving into tonight, cloudy conditions will lead to light rain and drizzle at times.
Drier conditions will be in place for areas in the east, but it will stay mostly windy and very mild.
A maximum temperature of 10c has been predicted for tonight.
