A boy on a bicycle attempted to rob a woman in Newton Aycliffe and detectives are appealing for information.
The incident happened at around 4.50pm on Sunday (November 6) in Woodham Burn.
A woman was approached by a young boy on a bike who demanded her purse, but fled when the woman told him that her husband was calling the police.
The suspect is described as 5ft tall with short, light brown hair.
He was wearing a beanie hat, blue trainers, a dark blue hoodie and a white Covid facemask.
