A gym chain has confirmed that they will be opening a new gym in the North East.
The Gym Group is going to open a new 24-hour location in Sunderland just ahead of the New Year's Resolution rush for gym memberships.
Their new location, on Toll Bar Road in Ryhope, will serve the Sunderland South area and is due to open in December.
It touts a wide range of equipment, including cardio and weights machines, as well as free classes for members, and even its own fitness app to help you on your fitness journey.
The Gym Group is a nationwide gym chain, with 221 locations across the country, which has built a reputation for providing affordable, 24-hour gym access.

Their new Sunderland South location is situated in the Toll Bar Retail Park, which is easily accessible by both the A1018 and Sunderland train station and only a 7-minute drive from the University of Sunderland.
They are offering an introductory deal on gym membership - meaning you can enjoy full gym access for only £9.99 for the first three months - with payments starting when the gym opens in December.
The Gym Group is also recruiting personal trainers to join their team ahead of their new location's grand opening next month - so if you have undertaken a level three personal training course, you could be employed at the new gym this time next month.
Gym Group locations offer a wider range of classes free to members - including everything from strength and conditing, to cardio and yoga.
This new opening comes a month after One Gym, another national gym chain, announced that it would be opening a Sunderland location in Ryhope - meaning that residents have plenty of choices when it comes to keeping fit.
