THE Hairy Bikers criticised comedian Jimmy Carr for his 'not very kind' joke about Dave Myers when he was off Sunday Brunch last year because of Covid.
In their 'Agony Uncles' podcast, they talked about receiving cruel text messages or statements from people intending to make a joke.
Barrovian Dave said: "We got talking of Jimmy Carr I remember he was quite inappropriate with us Mr King on Sunday Brunch." Si King agreed.
"Obviously due to my current condition you were working very hard and doing a rather wonderful job and he suggested that if I died you'd be alright on your own - which at the time wasn't very kind really," Dave said.
Si King said: "It was less than kind and it was all about him and his very large over-inflated ego but that's fine. Anyway, that's Jimmy Carr's humour."
On October 10 2021 Si appeared on Sunday Brunch without Dave - he had to make a number of appearances without his co-star during this period because Dave was unwell.
Comedians Ross Noble and Jimmy Carr were on the show. Ross Noble made a joke about Si's friend being on his 'deathbed.' Ross said that Si was doing a good job appearing alone and continued:
"I'm just saying, I know he's [Dave] on his deathbed, but-" "That's terrible," Si King replied. "That's not - what a terrible thing to say."
Jimmy Carr then chipped in: "Has he been holding you back all these years?"
Si then replied that their 'strengths and weaknesses' are equal.

Dave is currently recovering from cancer. On another part of the podcast he was complemented by another presenter for his 'vastly increased amount of beard that I can see on you, and hair as well. Looking good Dave.'
Dave quipped: "When I was a kid there used to be a toy called Whiskery Willy which was this pink bald face with a magnet. You dragged the iron filings over and you bring some hair up - at the moment I feel like a Whiskery Willy character but I'm very happy about it!"
He then clarified that the toy was: "Nothing to do with your nethers!"
