Three men have been arrested after a crash which left a 34-year-old man seriously injured.
The incident happened in Middlesbrough last month when the 34-year-old was heading across Newport Road on foot from the direction of Letitia Street when a black vehicle, believed to be a Volkswagen Passat, made off from the scene.

The man remains in hospital with serious injuries following the collision.
Police have today (November 3) arrested three men, aged 18, 20 and 23, on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after the incident which happened at around 10.30pm on Friday October 7.
All three remain in police custody while officers carry out further enquiries.

A 39-year-old man who was previously arrested also remains under investigation.
Police are appealing for anyone with further information about the incident, or dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward by calling 101, quoting incident number 180224.
