Drivers are feeling the pinch at the forecourt as the price of diesel has hit 190p per litre once again.

The latest rise comes after prices had fallen from a peak in the Summer, but costs have been slowly creeping up again ever since.

The average price of a litre of diesel now stands at 190.31p, up almost 14p on this time last month (October 6), according to the RAC, and it’s predicted the price will rise further in the coming days.

And the average cost a litre of unleaded on Tuesday (November 1), up 3p on the beginning of October.

Drivers have reported prices at many forecourts across the North East as having gone up by around 5p per litre on just a couple of weeks ago.

However, prices are still lower than they were at their peak around July this year when diesel reached an average of 199.07p on July 1.
