Durham Police has released shocking footage of three teenagers leading police officers on a dangerous pursuit around the residential streets of County Durham while not wearing helmets.
At around 4pm last Wednesday (October 26), police officers reportedly received reports of the three teens riding dangerously around the Ferryhill area.
After getting numerous complaints from members of the public, who worried for the safety of the teenagers and for other road users, officers from the Roads and Armed Policing Unit were dispatched and pursued the suspects through Ferryhill Station, Chilton and Kirk Merrington.

The bike was followed towards Ferryhill by PC Steve Hawman who directed colleagues with a stinger to the best location to intercept.
The bike was stung and shortly after, the driver tried to bring it to a ‘decamp’ stop by purposefully crashing it into a lamppost.
All three suspects ran off and were pursued by officers on foot.
An 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were subsequently detained and arrested on suspicion of theft.
The bike itself was also seized and confirmed as stolen. It will be returned to the owner.
The suspects have subsequently been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
