A curious canine who got into a potentially “woof” situation at a County Durham beauty spot has been brought to safety by local firefighters.
Zack, the English springer spaniel, was reported to be stuck on a steep cliff edge at Castle Eden Dene, Peterlee, earlier in the week.
Fortunately, the team from Red Watch at Peterlee Fire and Rescue Station, were quickly on hand with a trusty harness to bring Zack down from the cliff edge at Gunners Bridge in the dene, to be safely reunited with its relieved owner.
Red Watch crew manager Tom Robson was helped by colleagues Chris Lawson and Kiah Middleton in the rescue mission.
