It’s shaping up to be a big year in live music in the North East in 2023, with a whole host of big name stars set to perform gigs across the region.
After a Summer of sell-out gigs this year as live music made a huge return following the covid pandemic, more artists have been announcing their own shows for 2023.
And it’s set to be a big year for live music in out region, with lots of big name artists announcing dates at venues across the North East throughout 2023.

We’ve rounded up all the big name stars who’ve announced tour dates in the North East so far for next year, and taken a look at whether tickets are still available:
Sam Fender
Sam Fender is set to play Newcastle’s St James’ Park in what’s sure to be one of the biggest gigs of the year in the North East.
The local lad’s huge homecoming performance at the NUFC ground was announced to huge excitement in September.
Fender will play St James’ on Friday June 9 and Saturday June 10, 2023 with tickets sold out on both dates, according to Ticketmaster.
Pink
Pink will visit the North East next June for two shows at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on her Summer Carnival 2023 tour – with one of the shows on the same night as Sam Fender’s St James’ gig.
The Just Give Me a Reason singer will play the Wearside venue on Saturday June 10 and Sunday June 11, 2023.
Some tickets are still available for both dates, according to Ticketmaster, with slightly better availability, including some standing tickets, on the Sunday night. Entry to the gig will set you back though, with the cheapest tickets going for £104.50.
Lewis Capaldi
The first major gig of the year will see Lewis Capaldi play Newcastle’s Utilita Arena.
The Scottish singer will play one date of his ‘Broken by Desire to be Heavenly Sent’ tour on January 21, 2023 with tickets appearing to be completely sold out online.
Tom Grennan
Little Bit of Love singer Tom Grennan will also play Newcastle’s Utilita Arena for one night in Spring 2023.
The Bedfordshire-born artist initially planned a date at the 02 City Hall but the venue was upgraded to the arena due to what organisers describe as ‘phenominal’ demand.
Tickets are still available for the gig on March 14, 2023 and start at £30.50 each.

Sam Ryder
Fresh from coming second at Eurovision, perfoming at the Queen's platinum jubilee and a releasing his debut album ‘There’s Nothing But Space, Man!’ in November, Sam Ryder is heading to the 02 City Hall in Newcastle for one night only.
Tickets are still available for the gig on Thursday March 23, 2023 and start at just £26.55 each.
Olly Murs
Voice coach and former X Factor contestant Olly Murs will come to the region for one night on his ‘Marry Me’ tour.
He will play the Utilita Arena in Newcastle on Saturday April 22, 2023 with tickets still available, starting at just £39.50 each.
Michael Bublé
Fresh from entertaining fans at the Chester-le-Street Seat Unique Riverside this Summer, Bublé will return to the region in May 2023 for two dates at the Utilita Arena, Newcastle.
The Canadian Crooner will play the venue on Monday May 1 and Tuesday May 2, 2023 as part of his ‘Higher’ tour.
Tickets are still on sale, with the second date only added due to popular demand, and will set you back at least £64.95 each, with most tickets costing £87.50.
Mimi Webb
Mimi Webb has been one of the biggest breakout stars of the last couple of years, even performing at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier this year, and will be coming to the North East next Spring.
The House on Fire singer will play one date at the 02 City Hall in Newcastle on Monday April 3, 2023.
Tickets are limited with patrial view seats on the side balconies available only for £24 each.
