A Darlington man will have to wait until the New Year to learn his fate after a judge ordered that a psychiatric assessment be carried out before he can be sentenced.
Shaun O’Connor repeatedly interrupted proceedings at Teesside Crown Court with demands that he be sentenced straight away.
The 40-year-old, who is commonly known as ‘Chop Off’, pleaded guilty to three counts of assault, two counts of exposure and one count of sexual assault following an incident in Darlington last month.
O’Connor, of Pateley Moor Crescent, told Recorder Bryan Cox KC – “I already know what I have done. I just want sentencing.”
He was arrested on Wednesday, September 7, following the incidents in Coleridge Gardens earlier that day but no details of the offences the defendant pleaded guilty to were read out during the short hearing.
The judge adjourned the case until January 5 and remanded O’Connor in custody.
