A cyclist has been taken to hospital after being hit by a bus in Sunderland.
It happened on Lizard Lane in Whitburn at around 3.30pm today (Tuesday, October 25).
Police and ambulance crews were sent to the scene and the road was closed in both directions to enable paramedics to treat the casualty and officers to investigate the incident.
A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at approximately 3.30pm this afternoon following reports of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian on Lizard Lane.
"We sent two paramedic ambulances, a hazard area response team and a clinical team leader.
"We treated one patient before taking them to hospital."
