North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information about two musical instruments that were stolen near Darlington.
The theft happened in the Barton area of Richmondshire in January this year and the instruments stolen - a violin and a double bass - have a high sentimental value to their owner.
A 37-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
However, the instruments have not been recovered and police are appealing for anyone who knows their whereabouts or has been offered them for sale to contact them.
The violin is a Realist Pro 5 string violin made by David Gage and has a signature underneath the rear shoulder rest.
The double bass is Gear4music instrument.
If you know where either of the instruments is or you have been offered them for sale, email michael.smith@northyorkshire.police.uk.
You can also call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two, and ask for PC Michael Smith.
