Durham Police have confirmed Jubilee Park in Spennymoor has reopened following an alleged sex attack on Saturday (October 22).
Police said a man was arrested yesterday in connection with a report of a serious sexual assault in the park and he remains in police custody at this time.
Officers will be continuing their inquiries in the local area and the park was closed to the public for yesterday (Saturday, October 22) and most of today (Sunday, October 23).
There was a large police presence in the park and the surrounding areas yesterday.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said today: “Jubilee Park has now been reopened.
"We appreciate the community’s support and patience while investigative work has been carried out in the area.
"A man who was arrested yesterday in connection with a report of serious sexual assault remains in police custody, and officers are continuing with their inquiries.”
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said yesterday following the arrest: “A man has been arrested following an allegation of serious sexual assault in Spennymoor this morning (Saturday, October 22).
“A female reported having been assaulted by a male shortly before 8am inside Jubilee Park.
"A man was arrested this afternoon and remains in police custody.
“The park is currently closed while Detectives carry out their inquiries, and it is expected to remain closed for some time.
“An increased police presence will be visible in the area while the investigation continues.”
