Kids in Middlesbrough were up bright and early to clear the shelves of a celebrity-endorsed drink as the 'PRIME' craze sweeps the region.
Over the last few months, UK stores have started stocking new hydration drink PRIME, which is popular in the USA and is promoted by celebrities such as KSI and Logan Paul.
At 6am this morning (Friday, October 21) a queue formed outside the ASDA in South Bank Middlesbrough and footage shared on social media shows youngsters sprinting towards the shelves of PRIME.
However, it emerged that there were no bottles of PRIME as the stock had already been snapped up.
North East food blogger Craig Harker filmed footage of the drinks dash on his mobile phone and people could be heard in the background saying: "I've never seen owt like it!"
Craig, who is behind the popular Dad Loves Food blog, said: "The kids were at the front of the queue and you can see them just running off."
He told The Northern Echo: "I went to Asda portrack at 5.20am Asda South Bank at 6am Asda Stockton at 8.10am and Asda Thornaby at 8.30am.
"Only Portrack had them in stock."
At the South Bank ASDA, Craig kindly gave a boy a drink from his own stock after the youngster was unable to buy one.
With its block colour bottles and a range of flavours, PRIME has become a hit with younger audiences.
On Saturday (October 15) a Peterlee ASDA store had sold out of PRIME by 9am shortly after opening.

It's thought that the drink has found such popularity among youngsters due to the celebrities linked to the product and teenagers seen drinking it in the advertising campaign.
The fact that some schools have also banned PRIME has almost certainly made it more appealing to youths.
The drink's creator, KSI, a YouTuber and rapper, recently spoke about the hype surrounding the drink on an episode of The Fellas podcast
He said: “It’s always sold out, man. Honestly, people are selling it on the black market.
“The only place you’re meant to get PRIME is Asda and Arsenal stadium. But people are getting it at petrol stations!
“Asda employees aren’t even putting it on the shelves anymore. They’re shipping it out lowkey.
"They’re like ‘what’s the point, I put it on the shelf, and it’s gone instantly.”
