One of the UK's biggest discount retail giants is looking to open up a new store in County Durham.
Discount retailer, One Below have confirmed they are looking to launch a new store in Newton Aycliffe.
They have today confirmed that they are currently in negotiations regarding a site in the town centre.
Speculation had been rife amongst residents that the area would be getting a new OneBellow store after a job listing in the area appeared online.

Online rumours have been swirling it will move into the spot previously occupied by the Oops Food Clearance store.
The Oops Food Clearance store had opened inside the former Argos and EE store on The Parade in Newton Aycliffe in February this year, before closing a few months later.
At the time, residents showed their excitement when signs appeared showing a tenant would be moving into the once-popular location.
In a social media post earlier this year, the store announced a last minute sale as it said the site would be closing down.
It said: "This Friday and Saturday due to store closure, come and pick a bargain. Everything in store is half price.
"Thank you everyone for your custom. When it's gone it's gone."

The announcement was met with widespread disappointment as some branded the closure as a "shame."
One person said: "Sorry to see you going guys, all the very best to your staff."
Another said: "It's a shame. I really thought this would be a winner here in Aycliffe. There never seems to be anyone in it."
OneBelow is a discount British variety store chain founded in 2018, and reportedly has 881 employees.
One Below did not comment any further.
