A road closure and diversions will be in place from this evening due to Yarm Fair.
The historic fair, which is more than 800-years-old, opens in Yarm town centre at 6pm on Thursday, October 20.
Yarm high street - the A67 - will be shut from 6pm to 11.05pm this evening (Tuesday, October 18) to allow event rides and vehicles to arrive.
The high street will also be shut during the evening while the fair is running on Thursday and Friday and will be closed on Saturday from 11.30am.
Whilst the road closure is in place, signed diversions will direct motorists via the A19 and A66.
The fair is organised by the Showmens Guild Northern Section and a spokesman told The Northern Echo: "As in previous years there is a wide selection of rides, stalls and food outlets at Yarm Fair.
"The public can expect a safe and fun environment as the Yarm Fair event will be security controlled at all times."
This is an historic custom dating back to when the fair was also livestock trading event for North East farmers.
The fair is open from 6pm to 10pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 1pm to 10pm on Saturday.
Here is when the A67 Yarm high street road closure will be in place between Bridge Street and Bentley Wynd.
