Officers investigating a sexual assault at a Metro station in North Shields have identified a man who they would like to trace.
An investigation has been ongoing ever since the incident which occurred at about 8.45pm on August 8 at Percy Main Metro Station.
It was reported that a female victim was on the platform when a man who was not known to her kissed her on the neck and stroked her leg.
The offender is then believed to have got on a Metro at Percy Main and left the area, before getting off at Wallsend.
The victim was left shaken by the incident and is being offered support by specialist officers.
Now, as part of their ongoing enquiries, officers have identified a man who they would like to trace.
He was on the platform at the time of the offence and could have information that can assist the investigation.
The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of the Northumbria Police website or by calling 101 quoting crime number 094611N/22.
