The UK could be seeing warmer temperatures this week as rumours of an “African Plume” set to sweep across the country.
However, will the North East see these “mini-heatwave” or will we be once again left in the cold?
So far today many will have woken up to a dry and bright day with some windy conditions.
Showers are set to arrive by late morning, however, in eastern areas of the country things will be mostly brighter and dry.
A maximum temperature of 15c has been predicted for many today.
Moving into tonight cloudy conditions will be prevalent over hilly areas, but most of the region will see long clear spells leading to chilly conditions and fog.

A minimum temperature of 2c has been predicted tonight.
Will the North East see warmer temperatures this week?
Sadly, it looks like the North East will miss the warmer temperatures predicted for many over the next few weeks.
Much of the period this week will be wet with many places seeing rain with some dry interludes and mild temperatures.
Moving into the weekend, the North East is set to see mostly dry conditions with some rain throughout.
Next week low pressure is set to bring mostly unsettled conditions bringing showery periods with some sunny spells.

The South East and West are set to see mild temperatures, however, sadly the North East will see cooler weather.
In Darlington, temperatures are set to climb throughout the week, but are not set to increase more than 15c.
Highs of 15c have been predicted for the North East town this week between Thursday and Saturday.
In Durham, temperatures will be even higher, with highs of 16c predicted for the city.
The same can be said for more southern areas such as Northallerton with temperatures of 16c also predicted for the North Yorkshire town.
