A man is in hospital with serious injuries after a vehicle came off a North East road and smashed into trees and the central reservation.
Cleveland Police are appealing for information after a single-vehicle collision on the A19 near Elwick.
The vehicle had left the carriageway, colliding with vegetation, trees and roadside furniture and rebounding into the central reservation.
The crash which happened in Hartlepool on Friday involved a silver VW Golf.

Meanwhile, police have said the male driver was taken to James Cook University Hospital.
They said the man has been taken to hospital for treatment to serious head injuries.
They have also confirmed he remains in hospital and is being treated as an inpatient.

Police are seeking information from witnesses and any dashcam footage about the incident.
In a statement, a Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Any witnesses or motorists with dashcam footage of the collision which happened just after 9.10pm on Friday (14th October) is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 184832."
