With the half term just a week away many of us will be looking to some last-minute European holiday deals to soak up some late October sun.
There’s a whole host of destinations available from the North East for holidaymakers this half term, from Newcastle Airport.
And with the cost-of-living crisis biting it may even work out cheaper to jet away for a week rather than find ways to keep the kids entertained over the break.

We’ve taken a look at some last-minute deals on holiday-booking site LoveHolidays, with flights from Newcastle Airport for the October half term week.
Here are five last-minute trips to destinations across Europe this half term, according to LoveHolidays.
1. £166pp - Portimão, Algarve, Portugal
Flying from Newcastle Airport with Jet2 on Thursday October 27, and returning with RyanAir on Tuesday November 1, this deal comes in at £166pp.
From £166pp for five nights self-catering, this deal is staying at the Studio 17 by Atlantic Hotels in Portimão. The hotel is rated four stars from 350 reviews on TripAdvisor and is centrally located in Portimão.
2. £178pp - Praia da Rocha, Algarve, Portugal
Some of the cheapest deals available are on the same flights as deal one, with this one costing an extra £12 each at £178pp.
This deal is also flying from Newcastle to spend five nights at the Plaza Real Atlantichotels in Praia da Rocha, which has a four star rating on TripAdvisor.
There are a whole host of simimlarly priced deals available in Portugal on the same flights.

3. £197pp – Lake Garda, Italy
Skipping over some similar deals in Portugal, you could choose to spend 5 nights in Italy, staying at the lakeside Hotel Belvedere in Lake Garda.
Flying from Newcastle on Wednesday October 26 and returning on Monday October 31, this deal also has breakfast included.
4. £218pp – Figueretas, Ibiza
Coming in at £218pp for five nights in Ibiza, this deal is for a stay at the Apartamentos Vibra Tropical garden hotel, which has a four star rating on TripAdvisor.
The flight times on this deal could be ideal, with a 10am departure from Newcastle with Ryanair on Wednesday October 26, returning on Monday October 21 at 1.25pm with Jet2.
5. £219pp – Cala d’Or, Mallorca
This deal comes in at £219pp for a five night stay at the Sol Cala d’Or Apartments in Mallorca.
The hotel sits just a stone’s throw from the coastline with a four star rating on TripAdvisor, including 585 excellent ratings.
The hotel is self catering with flights from Newcastle with Ryanair on Friday October 21, returning the following Wednesday.
