A four-vehicle crash caused traffic chaos on the A19 and A174 near Thornaby this morning (Friday, October 14).
It happened on the slip road from the A174 joining the A19 north just after 7.35am this morning.
One lane of the A19 was shut for around an hour and led to queues of around ten minutes on the A174.
It is understood that none of the motorists involved suffered any serious injuries.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: "Police attended a four vehicle collision just after 7.35am today.
"It involved a VW Id 3 Life, a Suzuki Alto, an Audi Quattro and a Fiat 500 and it happened on the slip road from the A174 joining the A19 north.
"Lane one was temporarily partially blocked leading to traffic build up and three of the vehicles were recovered.
"There were no reports of injuries and the drivers involved exchanged details."
The crash led to heavy traffic during rush hour.
It took around two hours for the traffic to completely clear in the area and return to normal.
