Stunning scenes await at Durham Cathedral over the next four nights as it hosts the special sound and light display Luxmuralis.
The Life installation by artists Luxmuralis takes visitors to Durham Cathedral on a journey through earth, sea and sky represented by stunning light projections on the cathedral’s centuries-old architecture.
By day the cathedral appears as normal but each evening, installations are being projected across all areas inside the building.
The artwork's intention is to bring the natural world to life and give people an opportunity to pause and reflect on their responsibility to protect it.
The works of artistic collaboration Luxmuralis have been touring cathedrals in England for several years, but this is the first time their artwork has come to the North East.
Life by Luxmuralis opened at Durham Cathedral last night (Wednesday, October 12 and it runs until Sunday, October 16.
It is suitable for all ages and it opens from 6.45pm to 9pm.
Entry to the cathedral is by a timed ticket only and costs £8 for adults, £5 for children under 18 and infants under 3 go free.
