Popular luxury cinema brand Everyman has announced that it will be opening a plush new venue in the heart of Durham City this winter – as fans of the brand await its opening.
Noted as a cinema with comfort and premium food and drink, those that aren’t familiar with Everyman might not realise that you can enjoy refreshments in your seat, including pizzas, hot dogs, nachos, and cocktails.
Despite Durham City already having several cinema chains, Everyman has promised those that visit the venue, which will be based in Durham’s premium retail and leisure destination, Milburngate, an “ultimate film experience”.

Once Everyman Durham opens, it will become the 39th venue in the UK, but it will be unique in the sense that people will be able to enjoy breathtaking views over Durham’s historic skyline.
Confirming the news on Thursday (October 13), a spokesperson from Everyman said: “Everyman is proud to announce the launch of its 39th venue located in the heart of the city of Durham.
“The luxurious cinema, opening to consumers this winter, will be located in Durham’s premium retail and leisure destination, Milburngate.”
The new venue will boast state-of-the-art technology, with four extensive screens and over three hundred seats, including plush velvet sofas and armchairs.
That’s not all, though.
The cinema chain has promised film lovers all the latest blockbusters and some big-screen classics mixed in for good measure too.
The spokesperson added: “Allow Everyman’s friendly staff to take your order from the extensive food and drink menu, and bring this directly to your seat, as you relax on a sofa for two and indulge in a variety of blockbuster films, documentaries, and live screenings.”
Since opening its first cinema, Everyman has become well-known for hand-stretched pizzas, small plates, including hot honey halloumi, buttermilk chicken and tempura prawns, as well as a full bar, with speciality wine and beer, cocktails, and desserts ranging from milkshakes, freshly baked cookie dough and even the option to build your own sundae.
