A police cordon remains in place in Middlesbrough after a 59-year-old man was stabbed on Wednesday (October 12) evening, as patches of blood have been spotted on the pavement outside a terraced property in the town.
Emergency services attended Gresham Road in Middlesbrough at around 10.40pm following reports of a ‘disturbance’.
At one point, six police vehicles and one ambulance were spotted at the scene along with specialist officers, while a cordon was erected between Falkland Street and Lovaine Street, near Adulis corner shop.

The police cordon is still in place on Thursday (October 13).
Police officers can still be seen on Greasham Street, while discarded items and spatters of blood can be seen at the other side of the police cordon.
On Thursday (October 13), Cleveland Police released a statement confirming a man had been stabbed and was rushed to hospital.
The statement read: "Police were called to a report of an assault around 10.40pm on Gresham Road, Middlesbrough, on Wednesday 12th October.
"A 59-year-old man had suffered stab wounds and was taken to James Cook University Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
"A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody at this time.
It added: "Officers are continuing with their enquiries and would appeal to any witnesses, or anyone with footage from dash cam, phones or CCTV, to call Middlesbrough CID on 101, quoting incident number 183507.
