A man accused of killing 40-year-old Jasreet Klare in Bishop Auckland on Sunday has appeared in court today (October 12) charged with his murder.
Police were called to Tenters Steet, Bishop Auckland shortly before 5am on Sunday (October 9) morning following reports of an assault.

Paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service also attended and pronounced Jasreet Klare dead at the scene.
A police corden was put in place on Sunday and Monday outside the Carter’s fish and chip shop on Tenters Sreet while police continued their investigations.
Detectives working the case charged 42-year-old Inderjit Klare, of Eve Lane, Spennymoor with Jasreet’s murder on Tuesday (October 10) evening.
Mr Klare appeared at Peterlee Magistrates court on Wednesday morning for a short hearing where he entered no plea at this stage.
The case was adjourned and sent to Teesside Crown Court.
He will appear in court in Teesside on Friday (October 14) morning.
Jasreet’s devastated fiancée Emma paid tribute to him on Thursday evening, saying: ““Our hearts are broken, and our lives will never be the same.
“We all love you unreal amounts and will miss you terribly. “Our family need time to process what has happened and request that we are afforded privacy at this time.”
