Police have released an image of a man they want to identify following an alleged sexual assault on a North East street.
The incident was reported to have taken place on Monday, August 29, between 9pm and 9:15pm on West Street in Gateshead town centre.
An investigation has been ongoing since officers received a report that a woman was approached by an unknown male.
The man then reportedly grabbed the victim by the waist and kissed her on the cheek, mouth, and neck without consent.

The woman then fled the scene but was reportedly followed by the man for a period of time who subsequently made off on foot.
As part of Northumbria Police’s enquiries, officers have today (Tuesday, October 11) released the image of a man they would like to trace.
He was in the area at the time of the incident and could have valuable information that can assist the ongoing investigation.
