A woman was taken to hospital with injuries after falling off her bike on a County Durham road.
The woman, who was in her twenties, fell while cycling and a concerned member of the public called the police and an ambulance.
The incident occurred shortly after 6pm yesterday (Wednesday, October 5) in the Quarrington Hill area of County Durham, near Bowburn.
She was then escorted to hospital to be checked over.
A spokeswoman from Durham Police said: "Police were called shortly after 6pm last night (October 5) following concerns for the welfare of a woman on Church Street, Quarrington Hill.
"It is believed the woman in her 20s had fallen off her bike and injured herself.
"Officers were joined by colleagues from the Ambulance service who transferred the woman to hospital."
The Northern Echo approached The North East Ambulance Service for comment.
