A person has been rushed to hospital after a 'medical incident' was reported at a County Durham viaduct on Wednesday (October 5) morning.
Paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service attended Newton Cap Viaduct on the A689 in Bishop Auckland at around 10.15am.
After arriving on the scene, ambulance crews attended to one patient and the road was closed for around an hour to allow medical professionals to treat the person.
It's not yet known what fully happened at the viaduct, with the ambulance service describing it as a 'medical incident' - but did confirm their attendance and noted that one patient had been taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital.

A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 10.16am this morning to reports of a medical incident on the Newton Cap viaduct in Bishop Auckland.
"We dispatched one ambulance crew who took one patient to the Darlington Memorial Hospital for further treatment."
Despite the ambulance service attending, Durham Police said that their officers weren't required at the scene.
One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Northern Echo: "I didn't fully see what happened, I just saw blue lights, but something needs doing about the viaduct."
