The A19 has been closed this morning (Wednesday October 5) with commuters are facing major delays after reports of a crash on the major road.
The Northbound side between the A1086 and A182 near Easington was closed around 8.45am after reports of a collision involving two lorries.
Traffic was earlier stopped on the route following the incident with National Highways reporting tailbacks of tailbacks of five miles, causing major disruption to journeys.

Emergency services are reportedly on the scene.
The Northern Echo has contacted Durham Police and the North East Ambulance Service to confirm more information about the incident.
