A man suspected of an attacking a toddler who is fighting for her life has been released by detectives.
The man in his 20s was arrested in relation to the incident involving a two-year-old girl in Shotton Colliery on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to Milton Grove at around 3.30pm following reports of a medical incident.

Paramedics gave the youngster urgent treatment and she was flown to the RVI in Newcastle where she remains in intensive care.
Shortly afterwards, the man was arrested on suspicion of assault with intent to serious harm and has been questioned by detectives as part of a criminal inquiry.
Durham Constabulary has today (Friday, September 30) said he has been released under investigation.

Meanwhile, crime scene investigators in white overalls are at the property for a second day looking for clues that might establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Christopher Barker said: “We appreciate that friends, family and neighbours are deeply concerned by this incident, but we ask that the community refrains from speculation over the circumstances or naming of those involved online.”
