A multi emergency service response was called to the scene of a serious crash on the A19.
The A19 Northbound was blocked and there is stationary traffic due to a crash from A19 (Cleveland Tontine) to A67 (Crathorne Junction) in North Yorkshire.
There was also queuing traffic on the southbound carriageway as onlookers slow to look at accident.
Traffic was diverted up the A172.
The incident was cleared just before 12pm on Friday.
North Yorkshire Police have been contacted for more information on the incident.
A statement from the force read: “A19 Northbound closed at Cleveland Tontine.
"The northbound carriageway of the A19 is currently closed from the Cleveland Tontine junction to Trenholme Lane due to a serious collision.
"Traffic is being diverted up the A172. Please avoid the area if possible."
