Police have released the name of a man who tragically died after falling overboard from a ship off the North East coast.
The incident happened on Monday afternoon (September 26) and saw lifeboat volunteers rush to the mans aid shortly after 2pm.
The man was recovered from the water by the transfer vessel and Hartlepool RNLI crew assisted in administering casualty care.
Sadly the man was confirmed to have died shortly after, despite the best efforts of lifeboat crews and paramedic teams who met with the boat when it returned.

Police have revealed the dead man as 55-year-old Gerald Josephy Dimzon, from the Philippines.
Officers are still currently investigating the full circumstances surrounding the death, but are not treating the incident as suspicious at this time.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police added: “His family have been notified and our thoughts are with them at this sad time.”
