A COUNTY DURHAM business has offered a 1p lunch deal to try to help customers in their local community through the cost-of-living crisis.
Go Local Ushaw Moor advertised a one-penny lunch bundle, including a multipack of juice, six packets of crisps, fruit, a loaf of bread, and a sandwich filling.
The convenience store explained that they wanted to offer the deal as they "understand that times are tough right now with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis".
Go Local Ushaw Moor is operating this deal in partnership with Snappy Shopper, a home delivery platform that promises to have food and drinks delivered from local stores to your front door in an hour.

The deal is only being offered for a short amount of time - up until September 30, but can be accessed by downloading the Snappy Shopper app or going to their website.
Customers will be able to purchase the deal by selecting the "penny lunch bundle" on the Go Local Ushaw Moor digital store.
From here, it will be delivered to your front door in between 30 to 60 minutes.

The deal stirred up a huge reaction on Facebook, with many saying that it would be a huge help to them and their families during the current economic turmoil.
One woman wrote: "What a lovely thing to do, it is good to see local businesses helping people."
Another said: "Just ordered mine, and bought other items that are cheaper than Asda and Tesco. Support local businesses, I say."
This is part of a national scheme, run by Snappy Shopper, where local convenience stores offer a 1p lunch bundle, which is delivered within an hour.
