A man has been arrested following an allegation of sexual assault in Middlesbrough, with police placing a cordon around a footpath.
Officers from Cleveland Police taped off an area near Holyrood Lane in the Longlands area of Middlesbrough on Tuesday morning (September 27) - close to Priory Social Club and Aldi on Marton Road near the James Cook Hospital.
Police guarded the cordon whilst their inquiries continued into what has now been confirmed as an alleged sexual assault.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged incident, with police investigations ongoing.
Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Officers in Middlesbrough are investigating an allegation of sexual assault on Holyrood Lane in Middlesbrough. A 35-year-old man has been arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.”
