A police incident this morning in Hartlepool saw five roads closed and traffic diverted as a result.
The closures, which included Easington Road, Powlett Road, Raby Road and Winterbottom Avenue, were first reported at 4.53am.
Cleveland Police later revealed that they were at the scene of the incident and were asking drivers to find alternative routes.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Cleveland Police are at the scene of an ongoing incident on the approach to the roundabout on Powlett Road, Hartlepool.

"The following roads are closed: Easington Road Powlett Road Raby Road Winterbottom Avenue. Drivers are requested to find alternative routes."
The roads were later reopened and traffic was no longer being diverted.
The Northern Echo has contacted Cleveland Police for further comment on the incident.
