A man accused of conspiracy to murder after a firearm was allegedly discharged has appeared in court.
Aaron Giles, 28, has been charged in connection with the incident in South Shields last week.
Police are questioning three new suspects arrested as part of the investigation.

Officers received a report of a disturbance at a property on Brownlow Road at around 9pm on Wednesday.
It was reported someone had shot a gun and left but no-one was injured.
Mr Giles, of Richardson Avenue, South Shields was charged with conspiracy to murder and possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life.
He appeared before South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and the case was committed to Newcastle Crown Court with the first hearing next month.
Five men and three woman arrested in the days after the incident have been released, either on bail or under investigation.
