Thousands of pumpkins are ready to be picked at a popular farm as it gears up for Halloween.
Hundreds of visitors are expected at Spilman’s Pumpkin Farm in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, due to its popular crop of pumpkins.
The annual Spilman’s Pumpkin festival opens this Saturday, with the first of 125,000 ready to be picked.
Tickets are now on sale for the event and include entrance to watch the new ‘Last Pumpkin’ musical theatre show plus a £5 voucher to spend at the festival.

Visitors to the farm have been warned to dress for the occasion, however. The pumpkin patch is in a farm field and can get very muddy and slippy underfoot. Visitors are advised to wear sensible footwear and to bring wellies and waterproofs.
Farmer Tom Spilman and Sandra Mlynarova have been hard at work harvesting some of the 150,000 pumkins that have been grown ahead of the festival this weekend.
Pumpkins picked at the start of the month should keep well if they aren’t carved until nearer to Halloween.
The farm is open for pumpkin picking this weekend and on 1,2,8,9,14,15,16, and between 18-30 October.
