A child has been taken to hospital after being reportedly knocked over by a car in Hartlepool earlier this evening.
Police and ambulance crews received a call at 5.50pm (September 26) to Owton Manor Lane in Hartlepool after reports of a collision between a child and a vehicle.
The road was closed in both directions for around two hours as emergency services dealt with the incident.

The child’s injuries are not yet known.
Eyewitnesses reported police having cordoned off the area while emergency crews worked at the scene.
A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service told The Northern Echo: “We got a call at 5.50pm this evening to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a child on Owton Manor Lane.
“Our paramedic crews treated the child on scene before taking them to North Tees Hospital.”
