A North East bridge has seen one lane closed and a large police presence this morning after an incident.
The A189 was partially closed this morning after a man was found on the wrong side of the railings on Redheugh Bridge.
Police and emergency services soon closed one lane and a number of fire engines, ambulances and police cars were on the bridge.
Northumbria Police later confirmed that the incident was due to a man being found on the wrong side of the railings.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Shortly before 7.05am today (Monday) Police received a report of concern for the welfare of a man on the Redheugh Bridge.
“Officers and emergency services attended the scene where they found a man on the wrong side of the railings.
“He has since been brought to safety, and is currently in the care of medical professionals.”
