Newcastle Airport has issued a statement after there were reports of an "electrical failure" resulting in queues.
However, it was later revealed that it was not an electrical fire and was in fact a connectivity issue with IT systems.
The original statement, which was issued by Jet 2, said: “Due to an electrical failure at Newcastle Airport, we wanted to let you know you may experience significant queues in the airport on arrival.

“Please ensure you allow plenty of time to make your way through the terminal.”
However, a spokesperson for the airport has issued a renewed statement on the situation.
They said: "There has been a minor connectivity issue with some of our IT systems this morning, which has been contained and disruption kept to a minimum.
"The Airport is operating as normal and passengers are advised to continue to follow travel guidance from their airlines as standard."
