A new airline is set to land at Newcastle Airport next summer after it announced new flights to a popular European holiday destination.
Turkish airline Sun Express will launch three weekly flights from March next year to the holiday resort of Antalya, Turkey, running all summer.
The new service will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from March 28 through to October 28, 2023.

The airline will become the third to operate flights to Antalya from Newcastle and is another new addition to the airport.
Peter Glade, SunExpress’s Commercial Director said: “We are thrilled to be further expanding our footprint in the UK and to add Newcastle International Airport to our route network next year.

Newcastle Airport says Turkey remains one of the most popular destinations for North East holidaymakers.

SunExpress was named Best Leisure Airline in Turkey 2021 at the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards.
The airline currently operates flights from London Gatwick, Luton, Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham airports, expanding their services for summer 2023 to include Newcastle and Bristol Airports.
