Two men arrested on suspicion of rape have been bailed pending further investigation.
A woman was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees by ambulance after emergency services were called to Horden, near Peterlee, on Monday.
The drama unfolded in Seventh Street at around 6.20pm.

Durham Constabulary arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and rape.
The force also arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of rape, assisting an offender and obstructing a police officer.
A police spokesman said: “Both have been released on bail with conditions.
“Enquires remain ongoing.”
