A car mounted the pavement and crashed into a shop front in Newcastle last night (Sunday, September 11).
Two people were rushed to hospital following the incident which happened on Grainger Street in Newcastle.
It happened shortly after 7pm on Sunday, September 11 after the car mounted the pavement.
Police revealed that the driver of the car remained at the scene and assisted with the investigation.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “Shortly after 7pm yesterday (Sunday) we received a report of a collision on Grainger Street in Newcastle.
“For reasons to be established, the vehicle mounted the pavement and collided with a shop front. Two pedestrians in the area received treatment as a precaution.
“The driver remained at the scene and is assisting officers. Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
