Heavy showers and thundery spells could hit the North East on Sunday and Monday, according to the Met Office.
The North East will see temperatures of up to 22C today (Sunday September 4) as cloud, shower and thunder could arrive.
According to the Met Office there will be outbreaks of rain and showers, particularly in the west of the region, which could be locally heavy and thundery at times.

Looking to the start of the week it is set to be changeable with bands of rain and showers, which will become heavy at times with a risk of thunder.
Temperatures are set to be close to or just above average for the time of year.
