Darlington’s Hippodrome has announced the full cast for its 2022, with one familiar North East star and one panto legend signing up to tread the boards.
The theatre will be bringing a ‘high-flying’ production of Peter Pan to Darlington this Christmas as it celebrates its 115th anniversary.
Panto legend Christopher Biggins is returning to the town where he made his panto dame debut over 45 years ago.

He will be taking to the stage alongside one of the North East’s most famous panto villains Steve Arnott who has been performing at the Newcastle Theatre Royal pantomime for more than 10 years alongside Danny Adams and Clive Webb.
They will also be joined by comedian Rikki Jay playing Smee and Peter Peverley, who famously portrayed North East comic Bobby Thompson in The Bobby Thompson Story.
The cast is completed with Sheri Lineham as Wendy and West End performers James Hameed, Tegan Bannister as Peter Pan and Tinker Bell.
Bosses at the Darlington theatre are promising a “fun-filled Christmas extravaganza with a fabulous cast and orchestra, laugh-out-loud comedy, stunning scenery and of course, plenty of audience participation”.
