Speculation is building that Geordie music superstar Sam Fender could be about to announce a gig at St James' Park this morning after teasing a big announcement.
The star, who has shot to fame in the last few years, tweeted last night that he had some “really really big news” coming on Friday (September 2) and attached a mock-up post-match press conference picture showing him wearing a Newcastle United top.

Excitement has been building over the last week after Fender was spotted on the pitch at St James' Park leading many fans to believe he was gearing up to announce a gig at the Newcastle stadium.

The gig would be the North Shields-born star’s biggest to date with the venue holding over 50,000.
Fender is a well-known toon fan with his gigs often seeing concertgoers don NUFC strips and bucket hats meaning date at St James' is sure to be a true Geordie celebration.
Excited fans responded to the teasing announcement on Twitter with one saying the performance “will literally make my life”
Another added: “Can’t contain my excitement man! Manifesting it’s a gig at St James Park.”

An announcement is expected sometime on Friday.
