Police officers couldn't believe their eyes when a car drove past them with its engine on full display as it was missing all of its front-end bodywork.
The vehicle was being driven in Catterick without its bonnet, bumper and wheel arch panels - leaving its engine completely exposed.
The car was spotted by North Yorkshire Police on a routine patrol and was quickly pulled over.
A police spokesman said: "It’s often said that our roads policing officers have eagle eyes but it doesn't take exceptional eyesight to spot the missing bodywork, amongst other things, on this vehicle.
"We were on routine patrol in Catterick yesterday when this vehicle drove past, yes drove past!
"Needless to say we quickly brought it to a stop.
"The driver thought it was okay to go for a test drive around the area with a few key things missing - not something we would advise.
"The vehicle was seized for no insurance and the driver reported for a number of offences.
"What will we see next?"
