Overnight closures are in place on the A19 near Northallerton as essential work is taking place to strengthen the dual carriageway.
The A19 northbound and southbound carriageways between the junction with the A684 near Osmotherley, and the A172 near Cleveland Tontine, are undergoing the work over the next six weeks.
Work on the first phase began on Sunday night (August 21) and will continue for the next three weeks.
During this phase, overnight closures will be in place on the northbound carriageway from Sunday to Friday, from 8pm until 6am.
This will immediately be followed by the second phase, with a further three weeks of overnight work on the southbound carriageway.
This work will take place Sunday to Friday from 8pm until 6am.
During the day, a 50mph speed limit may be in place for traffic running on temporary surfaces.
During the closures, clearly signposted overnight diversion routes will be in place. Drivers will be diverted via the A684, A167, the B1264 and A67.
While closures are in place, people planning to drive during these times are advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow more time to reach their destination.
