Shocking footage of an off-road biker almost being wiped clean out by a car has been released in an attempt to clamp down on illegal biking in County Durham.
The near miss, which was recorded by Durham County Council’s warden group, reportedly took place on a patch of land between houses at Annfield Plain.
In the footage that has been circulated online, the rider, who is dressed all in black, can be seen riding his bike across the grassland, before narrowly avoiding a crash with an oncoming car travelling in the opposite direction.

Sharing the footage online, the warden group branded the off-road biker ‘Evel Knievel’ before issuing a warning to others who try and replicate the bikers’ act.
Within the post, the warden group said: “This is yet another example of why police and wardens take action against off-road bike users driving dangerously.
“Evel Knievel was racing around grassed areas between houses at Annfield Plain before narrowly avoiding a collision with an oncoming car when he drove straight onto the road at speed.

“To report issues with off-road bikes please call 101 at the time and the nearest resource can be allocated to attend.”
This isn’t the first time that nuisance bikers have caused chaos in the North East after Cleveland Police are currently investigating an incident which saw up to 80 ‘illegal’ riders take over Middlesbrough and Redcar.
