THOUSANDS of music fans converged on County Durham this weekend to enjoy two days of entertainment at the Hardwick Festival.
The lineup included acclaimed acts such as the Stereophonics, The Specials, Becky Hill, Jake Bugg, Seasick Steve, The Proclaimers as well as many more.
Pouring rain on Saturday did not put the fans, as they soaked up the atmosphere while resorting to everything from bin liners to umbrellas to keep the water out.
The festival featured five stages across the site at Hardwick Hall including the main stage, introducing stage, The Courtyard, Tree House Arena and the Soul & Funk forest.
Organisers of Hardwick Festival said they were delighted at a complete sell-out, with 10,000 people attending each day.
A spokesperson for the festival said: “It was a tremendous success. It was a sell-out and everything went smoothly.
"The Stereophonics, who were the headline act on Saturday went down well. They had an American singer Seasick Steve, who was brilliant.
“Andre Cushin, who is a local act, when down an absolute storm too.
“The Soul and Funk Forest, with inflatable trees, proved very popular too.”
She added: “The rain on Saturday did not put anyone off. People were using everything from black bin liners to ponchos to keep the rain out.
“They just wrapped up and stuck it out. Saturday was wrapped up with a big firework display.”
The Specials headlined on Sunday, with other big names taking to the main stage throughout the day including Becky Hill, Ella Ayre and The Proclaimers.
The introducing stage, featured up-and-coming acts, children’s area, a fairground and a food and drink village.
